Daevid's "Remission" Party

A day we all thought would never come finally happened 159 days ago.
The 411
Hallelujah!

I just wanted to give you all an advanced head's up since you may have travel plans to make and might have to stash away a little extra per week to get your booty out here.

As most of you know, I have been in a relationship for 10 years (as of Jan 14th) and the past three have been quite trying. I won't bore you with the details or talk negatively about the experience, but let's just say that I'm glad it has come to a conclusion and I've been given a new lease on life. Why did I call my party "Remission"? Well, similarly to somone diagnosed with and then cured of cancer, I too am in remission. Since I've been given a second chance, I figured what better way to "double up" so to speak than to re-create my awesome 40th birthday bash (those that attended know, and those that missed it heard).

This name has another meaning too. My father and hero passed away on February 3rd, 2010 (just two years ago). Therefore, carrying on with the whole "cancer theme", and since you're getting into the dome and also the club for free, I do ask that you make a generous donation to The Big Climb. This is NOT mandatory to attend by the way. Obviously the more the better, but I think a $20 per person is a good minimum starting point as you figure each venue would normally have cost you about $10 admission each anyways. But every little bit helps, so if you can only afford $5, then pledge that. Conversely, if you want to really show what a Philanthropist you are, $500 would really give you with baller status. It's a great cause and donations are tax deductible too. If you feel inspired, we'd love to have you join our Team Techno!

So FRIDAY FEBRUARY 10th, I am officially starting my new-found freedom! Ladies, I'm single! The line forms to the left... ;-)

The Plan

First, I'm renting out the Seattle Laser Dome for a FREE & PRIVATE event (that includes you, as long as you register your name below) and paying to have a custom laser show (trance) made for me. We've picked out anthem after anthem and choons to boot. As my friend Jason LeMaitre would say, "A unicorn is going to run into the middle of the room and take a big old rainbow turd". ROFL! That will be at 9:00pm sharp till 10:15pm (seriously, do NOT be fashionably late, they don't wait for anyone. you also want to get there early to get a good seat). Being a private party, you can also drink BEFORE hand and come in all loosey goosey IYKWIM (but please DO NOT bring anything INTO the dome). I was going to have them serve, but it takes time to setup and tear down and just seems like a hassle. Plus I'd have to get a permit and rent out another block of time and all that. Not worth it for a 1 hour show when you can drink or whatever prior to going in outside. *wink*

Then we all go Club Volume (map) to see a friend of mine and one of the top DJs in the world... Christopher Lawrence! Opening up for him will also be some amazing DJs and peeps of my crew: Johnny Monsoon / MarQ / Beefer / Web. Super trance for everyone! We'll have a VIP section reserved next to the DJ booth. This will be free for those that attend the laser event (I'll hand out wristbands). I've been guaranteed by the club promoter (Anthony Hyperfunk) that they won't botch this up like the previous club did for my birthday. He promises a separate line for my guests to expedite entry. The club ends at 1:40am ish... We'll rock out with our cocks out (girls can jam out with their clam out) and everyone else can nut up or shut up! ;-p

For those still standing, we'll most likely head to the swanky new Hotel 1000 (map) for some after-hours chillin like villains in our rooms. If you're booking a room there, talk to Katie McNulty as she hooked me up with a significant discount and said she can do the same for people in my party (so be sure to mention my name to her and also try to get a room near me if you can). Call NOW!

The Action - 3 easy steps
  1. EVERYONE attending THE DOME must JOIN this "Laser Dome" portion of my event.
    • Since the laser dome is a private party, I need to get a head-count and also generate a "guest list" for all that are attending, as the door staff aren't going to know who my friends/guest are or not. And I sure don't want to stand outside approving everyone myself. Dig?
    • The club will need to know how many wristbands to bring, and will use this count obviously.
    • You're welcome to bring your friends (put their names down separately), as long as you take responsibility for them.
    • ONE name per entry please. Just re-submit for each name in other words. YOU may have to use the "FB Event Invite" feature yourself and invite them since they're not in my friends list.
    • Any names NOT on the list can not be guaranteed entry. There are 200 actual seats and room for another 200 scattered on the floor.
    • You need to be at the laser dome Friday by 9pm sharp or earlier so we can load-in and get this party started.
    • Lastly, please use discretion when mentioning or talking about this part of "Remission". I don't want uninvited people swarming the dome and there are limited seats.
  2. EVERYONE attending THE CLUB must JOIN this "Club Volume" portion of my event.
    • The club is not private and therefore open to anyone and everyone.
    • Any names NOT on the list can not be guaranteed entry.
    • While not a requirement, you should dress to impress. It's a club. We're in VIP. Also, no baseball caps/bandannas, ripped jeans, etc.
    • You need to be at the club Friday by 11pm cutoff wristbands won't be honored past that point as they get very busy. So don't be pokey going from the dome to the club, you'll have about :30-:45 mins door to door. Plan accordingly for parking. Perhaps carpool or take a cab.
  3. Please make a generous donation of $20 or more to The Big Climb.
    • This is also not a requirement to attend, but it is much appreciated.
    • Even if you can only afford $5, every little bit helps and adds up.
    • We'd love to have you join our Team Techno too.
  4. If you aren't on the weekly PARTY list already, now might be a good time to join that too... (here's the current one)

If you have any issues, questions, concerns give me a call or shoot me an email to "my first name"@"my first name".com

The Salutation
Therefore, you need to get your vacation dates in to your boss, get your flights booked, and hotel rooms reserved. I would absolutely LOVE for you to be there to help me celebrate my new life! It's a great time for you to come see Seattle, meet my amazing friends, and share in this special day. Plus we can do tourist stuff for the weekend, such as see the Space Needle, Underground Tours and other fun stuff (while we nurse our hangovers).

I REALLY hope you can make it -- Not just for me, but for you too... You deserve to take a break and have a vacation. What better way? It would mean the world to me to have my support group, er um, friends around me for this.

The Reminder
Check back here often, especially as the night gets closer, as I may post updated information.
The Disclaimer
The laser dome is NOT open to the public, so please keep that part on the down low when speaking to people I don't know. The Club Volume is of course open to all, however only my friends and approved guests will get discount/free admission. This also holds for entry to the VIP section. I'm a friendly guy and not trying to be snobby, I just had to sign a $1,000,000 insurance policy for the dome and am trying to make sure that Drunky McDrunkerson, Cokey Cokerski and their friends LySergic-acid Diethylamide and gang don't show up and fuck up my gig. Dig? I'm all about a party and a good time, I just want trusted responsible people that will respect the venue and every one else...
The Mix
Here is the mix for the laser dome.

There are two versions that are the same, except one is a huge .wav file and good for burning a raw CD with.

The other is a .mp3 compressed version, perfect for your iPod and other media player.

Mad props goes to Mike Wadel (AKA Magnus) for cramming 39 songs into a mere :50 minutes.

It was nearly impossible to pick all the songs as there were hundreds of viable anthems to choose from.

I gotta tell you, you would think we would be sick of these tracks by the umpteenth revision and re-arrangement, but that is a testament to these choons. They just never get old.

And here is the track listing:
  1. John Digweed - Heaven Scent
